About us
Leaders Together is a TimeBank initiative delivered in partnership with the Evelyn Oldfield Unit and acevo. It is funded by the London Development Agency.
TimeBank
Everyone at TimeBank is driven by the belief that it should be easy to do something positive with your spare time. With this in mind, five years ago we created Time Together, a refugee mentoring project that aids refugee integration. This project has helped over 1500 refugees feel more at home in the UK and reach their goals in education, employment and social or cultural integration. Time Together is delivered in partnership with organisations across the UK, including the Evelyn Oldfield Unit.
Using the experience gained from Time Together, TimeBank created the Leaders Together project in partnership with the Evelyn Oldfield Unit and acevo.
The Evelyn Oldfield Unit
The Evelyn Oldfield Unit provides professional support and training to Refugee Community Organisations. The Unit has been working for 13 years to develop specialist support for refugee organisations to enable them to adequately tackle the pressing needs of the communities they serve.
acevo
acevo is the professional body for the third sector's chief executives, with over 2000 members. We connect, develop and represent the sector's leaders, with a view to increasing the sector's impact and efficiency. We promote a modern, enterprising third sector and provide a wide range of services to members. acevo was established in 1987 by a group of charity chief executives who wanted to develop a networking and support group for the sector. We are now one of the major voices in the sector prompting both good practice and campaigning for change. Our 2000 members are responsible for heading organizations that collectively:
- Turnover 11 billion a year
- Employ 260 000 staff members
- Manage over 6 million volunteers
London Development Agency
The London Development Agency is the Mayor's agency responsible for driving London's sustainable economic growth. Leaders Together is being fully funded through the LDA's Opportunities Fund Round 2 which has been designed to encourage and support locally delivered projects which make a real impact on London's economic development. It supports a range of innovative projects designed to help regenerate pockets of deprivation across London.

We believe that mentoring is one of the most effective methods of supporting leaders of refugee community organisations in order to boost their skills and confidence and to add value to their organisations.
